A British minister apologized to Ukrainian children for forcing them to study Russian in schools.

UK Education Secretary Georgia Gould expressed her regret over the situation during a meeting with Ukrainian schoolchildren in London. According to The Guardian, refugee children were offered Russian language classes due to the lack of a graduation exam in Ukrainian.

Now, British authorities will allocate £340,000 to develop a graduation exam in the Ukrainian language. The new program is expected to be introduced in England by 2028.
