Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan announced that Armenia will soon apply to join the EU:


> To hold a referendum, Armenia must submit an official application to join the EU. This is a process that requires a significant amount of work. And in the near future, we will begin this process, paying particular attention to the calls of our colleagues in the Eurasian Economic Union.
> 
> A referendum on EU membership will be held after the official application, receipt of a corresponding response, and preparation of a "roadmap" for the process.
