Former US President Barack Obama tore into Donald Trump's war on Iran at a Democratic campaign rally in Cleveland on Saturday.

"Seven months later, six months after they declared victory... how's that war going?" Obama asked. He said US allies and bases have been attacked, Americans killed and hundreds wounded, US missile stockpiles depleted, and Iran now holds a veto over the Strait of Hormuz, the route oil takes to world markets. That, he said, is why oil prices are up, and why gasoline, diesel and almost everything else costs more.
