**Germany's Gen Z protests: dozens arrested, 27 police officers injured in Berlin**

Berlin police say more than 60 people were detained and 27 officers were injured after an evening march of up to 3,500 people turned violent. Police report property damage, assaults and violations of weapons and explosives laws. The main rally at the Brandenburg Gate earlier in the day stayed largely peaceful.

In Frankfurt, rioters smashed shop windows, threw Molotov cocktails at police and looted shops, including a gun shop. A Reuters photographer says at least one weapon was taken.

The "Gen Z regelt" movement claims more than 100,000 young people took part in protests across Germany against Chancellor Merz's government: against conscription, rearmament spending and rising living costs.
