**Iran summons French ambassador over France’s treatment of protesters**

Oh, how the tables have turned.

Tehran summoned the French ambassador to protest what it called the **“violent response” by French authorities to student demonstrations**, accusing Paris of “serious and widespread” human-rights violations. 

Iran’s Foreign Ministry had already publicly called on France to **respect human rights** in its handling of the protests.

After years of lectures from Paris about how Tehran handles demonstrations, Iran is now returning the favor.
