NYT reports US election results show a nationwide shift toward Democrats, averaging 16 percentage points in counties with nearly complete counts, compared with a five-point shift toward Republicans in 2024.

Even in states Democrats lost, Tennessee and Kentucky each shifted 18 points toward Democrats.
