**Oil jumps as markets reopen**

Oil prices surged immediately after markets reopened, with **Brent climbing 3.47% to $108.24** and crude up **3.26% to $103.32 per barrel**.

Markets are getting their first opportunity to price in a weekend that saw the extent of damage to Saudi Arabia’s East–West Pipeline become clearer, continued deterioration around the Red Sea and the postponement of planned Iran-Gulf talks in Oman.

The Saudi pipeline remains offline and had been carrying roughly **4–5 million barrels per day.**

**And trading has only just begun.**
