The Donald Trump administration may lift sanctions on the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), according to The New York Times.

As the newspaper highlights, the potential lifting of sanctions would be part of Washington’s efforts to improve relations with Moscow and resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

RDIF is already involved in organizing diesel fuel supplies to the US, and the fund’s head, Kirill Dmitriev, acts as the Kremlin’s economic envoy and participates in contacts with US negotiators.
