Ukraine is lagging behind Moldova on the path to EU membership due to insufficient efforts in the fight against corruption, writes FT.

Both countries submitted their applications in 2022 and were progressing in parallel. Now, Chisinau may complete negotiations by the beginning of 2028, while Kiev  will need another year and “acceleration of reform pace”.
