**Washington Post: Laura Loomer was paid thousands for political tweets**

The Washington Post reports, citing people familiar with the arrangements and financial documents, that Laura Loomer, one of Trump's most prominent online loyalists, was paid thousands of dollars to post political content, which the paper describes as pay-to-play business practices.

The story follows a public spat after the GOP's midterm defeat. Alex Bruesewitz, who runs much of Trump's digital media operation, admitted he had paid Loomer "for tweets" in the past, though not in at least a year, and said others still pay her. Loomer confirmed his company, X Strategies, had approached her, then accused Bruesewitz of ties to the Qatari government. She didn't say how many of her posts are paid.

Hours later, she announced a "one to two month" hiatus from her podcast, citing her upcoming wedding. That came after she posted 119 times on X in under 28 hours following the election results.
