**Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has released the Indian Army's Land Warfare Doctrine 2026**, the first rewrite since December 2018.

It was launched on the final day of the Army Commanders' Conference in New Delhi, with the CDS and the Army Chief present.

**What the new doctrine focuses on:**
• Drones, AI, precision strikes and multi-domain operations
• Lessons from Operation Sindoor, Ukraine-Russia and the Iran-US conflict
• Jointness across the three services
• Man-unmanned teaming and empowering the soldier
• Atmanirbharta and a whole-of-nation approach to war

Alongside it, the Army is rolling out a five-year multi-domain training roadmap, AI skill courses for officers, and drone flying as a secondary skill across the force.

**The Army is rewriting how it plans to fight its next war.**
