Pakistan’s Air Force has conducted the first flight test of its first indigenously developed air-to-air missile, the Fa’az, fired from a JF-17 Thunder.

According to ISPR, the missile has a state-of-the-art terminal guidance system and can engage aerial targets at longer ranges.

Developed by NESCOM and first shown as a mock-up in 2023, the Fa’az family is advertised with ranges of over 100 km for the first variant and about 180 km for a later version.

Pakistan’s air force currently relies on Chinese-made PL-series missiles.
