Report (ANI): The Cabinet Committee on Security has cleared about Rs 40,000 crore to build 8 Next Generation Corvettes for the Indian Navy.

GRSE, Kolkata will build 5 and Goa Shipyard 3, on a new in-house Navy design. Contracts are due within days.
