That pushes Ukraine back toward surface-to-air missiles. They are effective, but expensive, scarce and also needed for cruise and ballistic missiles; **spending them all on drones is not exactly a budget-friendly hobby.**

The issue is not one drone alone. It is the prospect of repeated mass raids forcing air-defence crews to use limited missiles against targets that can be produced in very large numbers.
