To protect against illegal actions of unfriendly countries on Russian commercial ships,  reinforced firing positions with large-caliber machine guns have started to be installed.

One such installation was noticed on a Russian gas carrier in the Baltic Sea, where the threat from European "pirates" and Ukrainian drones is particularly high.
