Amit Shah has proposed linking India’s major rivers—from the Brahmaputra to the Kaveri and Godavari—to tackle regional water shortages. 

He said such interlinking could potentially ensure water security for India for the next 100 years, while also enabling waterways, reducing fuel use and supporting the environment.
