**Breaking News | AFSPA**

The Ministry of Home Affairs has extended AFSPA in parts of Arunachal Pradesh for another six months from October 1, 2026.

The extension covers Tirap, Changlang and Longding districts, along with areas under Namsai, Mahadevpur and Chowkham police stations in Namsai district.

The areas will remain designated as **“disturbed areas”** until March 31, 2027, unless withdrawn earlier.

AFSPA grants military forces sweeping powers to search, arrest, and use lethal force without warrants in designated "disturbed" areas.
