 India inaugurates its largest integrated phenol-acetone plant in Haldia, West Bengal.

Adperma Private Limited, a subsidiary of Haldia Petrochemicals Limited (HPL), inaugurated the ₹6,000 crore facility on October 14, 2026.

 Annual production capacity: 

• Phenol: 345,000 tonnes 
• Acetone: 215,000 tonnes

The facility aims to reduce India's dependence on imports, strengthen domestic chemical manufacturing and support downstream industries. 

The project is also expected to generate direct and indirect employment.
