**Breaking News**

 India is moving forward with a ₹33,000 crore proposal to build three additional Kalvari-class (Scorpene) submarines at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), with support from France’s Naval Group.

The proposed submarines could feature around 60% indigenous content, an Indian combat-management system, upgraded sensors and weapons, and improved stealth capabilities. 

The plan aims to strengthen India’s conventional submarine fleet while bridging the gap until Project 75(I) submarines arrive.
