The MoD has officially signed a contract worth ₹2,563 crore with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) for the development of GSAT-7C, a dedicated military communication satellite for the IAF.

The deployment of GSAT-7C will grant the Air Force its own independent, high capacity system to boost operational responsiveness.

GSAT-7C focuses on establishing specialized ground hubs and real-time connectivity for Software-Defined Radios.

This project will provide frontline assets with encrypted, jamming-resistant, and instantaneous communications, even during deep beyond-line-of-sight deployments.
