**Breaking News:  U.S. forces destroy five Iranian oil tankers

U.S. Central Command says American forces destroyed five Iranian crude-oil carriers on September 8 after Iran’s IRGC twice attempted to strike a U.S. Navy warship with ballistic missiles.

**CENTCOM** said the warship evaded both attacks and no U.S. personnel were injured.

The strikes targeted vessels Washington says were linked to an IRGC-affiliated oil network. 

The attacks follow three Iranian oil carriers struck by U.S. forces on September 5.
