BREAKING: U.S. Moves to Pay $725 Million Toward UN Debt

The Trump administration has begun the process of transferring $725 million to the United Nations, according to a State Department notification to Congress reviewed by Reuters.

The payment would cover part of the U.S. arrears to the UN's regular budget.

The UN said in May that Washington owed more than $4 billion in unpaid contributions, meaning the $725 million would cover less than 20% of that amount.
