**BREAKING: U.S. Supreme Court Weighs Whether Trump Can Continue White House Ballroom Construction**

The Trump administration has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to allow construction of the roughly $400 million, 90,000-square-foot White House ballroom to continue while its legal appeal proceeds.

The administration argues the project is tied to national security, describing the broader facility as an integrated complex with secure infrastructure and military-related capabilities.

Lower courts have ruled that the administration cannot proceed with the above-ground ballroom construction without congressional authorization.

The Supreme Court is considering the administration's emergency request, with the appeals-court order set to take effect August 21 unless the justices intervene.
