Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has released the Indian Army's Land Warfare Doctrine 2026, the first rewrite since December 2018.

It was launched on the final day of the Army Commanders' Conference in New Delhi, with the CDS and the Army Chief present.

What the new doctrine focuses on :-

• Drones, AI, precision strikes and multi-domain operations
• Lessons from Operation Sindoor, Ukraine-Russia and the Iran-US conflict
• Jointness across the three services
• Man-unmanned teaming and empowering the soldier
• Atmanirbharta and a whole-of-nation approach to war

Alongside it, the Army is rolling out a five-year multi-domain training roadmap, AI skill courses for officers, and drone flying as a secondary skill across the force.
