DRDO launches the SHIELD Program to develop an S-Band High Power Microwave system, boosting  India’s directed energy, electronic warfare and counter-drone capabilities.

The project aims to help India evaluate how electronic systems respond to powerful microwave attacks and accelerate indigenous directed-energy weapon technologies.
