Dubai declared ten days of official mourning following the passing of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, younger brother of Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sheikh Ahmed served as Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security. 

 Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over his demise, extending heartfelt condolences to the royal family and noting that Sheikh Ahmed's service to society will be cherished by generations to come.
