India achieved a massive Make in India milestone today as The Chatterjee Group (TCG) inaugurated the nation’s largest phenol and acetone plant in Haldia, West Bengal.

Previously, India imported 50% of its phenol—primarily from Thailand, Korea, and Singapore. Producing 345,000 tonnes annually, this new facility will completely wipe out import dependencies while generating 1,600 local jobs.
