India’s estimated nuclear arsenal has reached around 190 warheads, according to a new FAS assessment.

The US-based Federation of American Scientists estimates India has produced enough military plutonium for roughly 140–225 warheads, while up to 190 may already be assembled.

With more nuclear-capable systems under development, FAS expects India’s stockpile to grow further.
