**India’s Fuel Demand Hits 2-Year Low in August

India’s fuel consumption fell **6.3%** month-on-month to 18.61 million tonnes in August, its **lowest level since September 2024,** according to oil ministry data. 

Demand was also down **2.8%** year-on-year. Diesel consumption dropped 15% from July, while petrol sales rose 0.5% month-on-month. LPG demand remained unchanged at 2.35 million tonnes.
