INDIA SEES RECORD $136 BILLION FOREX INFLOW IN HISTORIC DOLLAR INFLUX

India recorded an unprecedented $136 billion in foreign exchange inflows as of August 31, 2026, marking the largest and fastest dollar mobilization in the country's history. Driven predominantly by Foreign Currency Non-Resident (FCNR) deposits—which accounted for $127 billion of the total—the surge was further supported by robust External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs) and overseas foreign currency borrowings.
