INDIAN NGO’S AID CONVOY SENT BACK FROM NEPAL

A Mohali-based Sikh NGO, led by Swarnjeet Singh, reportedly reached Sonauli with groceries, tarpaulins and mosquito nets for Nepal flood victims — but Nepal officials stopped the two vehicles and asked the team to buy relief materials inside Nepal.

Nepal is enforcing a “one-door” policy, routing relief through official channels.

While India’s government-to-government aid has been accepted, this private relief convoy was turned back.

With hundreds dead and many still missing, the decision is raising questions over how humanitarian aid is being coordinated on the ground.
