“Temple property belongs to the deity, not the government!”

The Supreme Court has declared a gift deed transferring temple inam land to the Tamil Nadu government NULL AND VOID, ruling that the state is a custodian of temple property, not its owner.

 The Court ordered ₹31,000 monthly rent retrospectively from March 8, 2019, ₹1 lakh in costs payable to the temple, and payment of outstanding rent arrears.
