Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison quietly purchased eight homes in Florida’s Palm Meadows Estates for nearly $10 million, reportedly to house household staff and tutors. 

The bulk purchases upset some residents, who objected to one owner controlling so many properties. The homeowners association later introduced _restrictions_ to prevent similar buying sprees.
