**No Indian University in Asia’s Top 50 for Second Consecutive Year: IITs and IISc Slip Further in QS Rankings**

India has failed to secure a single place in the top 50 of the QS Asia University Rankings 2027 for the second consecutive year. _IIT Delhi_ remains the country’s highest-ranked institution at 66th, followed by _IISc Bengaluru_ at 79th and _IIT Bombay_ at 83rd.

IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Kanpur also witnessed declines. Despite India’s representation increasing to 325 universities, the rankings highlight a persistent gap in research impact, academic reputation and internationalisation.
