**Only 17% Merchants Ready to Absorb UPI MDR**

A _LocalCircles_ survey covering over 32,000 merchants across 242 Indian districts found that only 17% are willing to absorb a 0.4% MDR on UPI payments above ₹2,000.

 While 41% oppose any MDR, another 9% do not accept UPI. The new charges are scheduled from October 15, with small merchants and low-value payments exempt.
