RUSSIA OFFERS S-500 AIR DEFENCE SHIELD TO INDIA WITH TECH TRANSFER

Russia has offered India its next-generation S-500 "Prometheus" missile system with full technology transfer. However, the proposal requires New Delhi to first purchase five additional S-400 units.

While the S-500 can destroy hypersonic missiles and satellites, the multi-billion-dollar condition creates a financial dilemma for India's Defence Ministry as it balances budgets for Rafale jets, submarines, and domestic programs.

To date, Russia has never exported the S-500 Prometheus system to any foreign country. India is the first nation to receive a formal, high-level export and joint-production proposal for the platform.
