OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping could jointly earn the Nobel Peace Prize if they reach an agreement on basic AI safety standards. 

He suggested shared rules and testing for AI development could help the two countries manage risks while continuing their broader technological competition.
