**The Trump administration has imposed fresh sanctions on three senior officials of Cuba’s** Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and nine Cuban state-owned entities in the mining, metals, trade and construction sectors.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused ICAP of operating a network aimed at promoting anti-American influence in the United States and said the measures are intended to pressure the Cuban government.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez condemned the sanctions, saying they would further damage Cuba's economy and interfere with access to essential goods, including food and medical supplies.
