UK HOME SECRETARY ANNOUNCES NEW REFUGEE ROUTES

Shabana Mahmood says the UK will begin accepting refugee applications through charities and non-profits from next month.

Meanwhile, 85,891 people claimed asylum in the UK in the year ending June 2026.

Top nationalities: Pakistan (~10%), Eritrea (~8%), Iran (~8%), Sudan (~7%), Afghanistan (~7%) and Bangladesh (~6%).
