The US House Ways and Means Committee, led by Jason Smith, is examining three tax-exempt NGOs linked to Neville Roy Singham over concerns about Chinese Communist Party influence. Singham-linked Tricontinental is headed by Vijay Prashad, who has publicly engaged with Indian student activists. Critics have also questioned Prashad’s associations with activists and figures including Teesta Setalvad.
