**US Startup Targets Ocean’s 4 Billion-Ton Uranium Reserve**

US clean-tech startup Fluxnium is developing technology to extract uranium dissolved in _seawater_, potentially accessing more than 4 billion metric tons—_enough for roughly 50,000 years_ of nuclear fuel at current demand. 

Its polymer fibres capture uranium offshore, while the company works to make extraction economically competitive with conventional mining.
