A fragment of Dmitry Donskoy’s relics should be taken to the special military operation zone as soon as possible, the Russian Orthodox Church said.

On August 18, three intact white-stone sarcophagi were discovered during restoration work at the Kremlin’s Archangel Cathedral. One of them belongs to Prince Dmitry Donskoy. His remains have been preserved almost completely.

The possibility of sending a fragment of the relics to troops in the SMO zone is now being considered, Vakhtang Kipshidze, deputy chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Relations with Society, said in an interview with Vesti.

He added that several fragments would also be placed in certain churches across Russia, with the list to be determined later: _“One thing is clear: the relics of the Right-Believing Prince will be available for veneration in the central churches of our Church.”_
