A Romanian F-16 opened fire with its 20 mm M61A1 Vulcan cannon on an unidentified unmanned surface vessel detected near the Neptun Alpha offshore gas platform in Romania’s exclusive economic zone. The drone was hit but not completely destroyed; a Romanian EOD team subsequently neutralized it and confirmed that it carried an explosive charge.

Romanian Defense Minister Radu Miruță said Ukraine had officially confirmed through a direct communication channel that the drone was not of Ukrainian origin.
