Yanbu has become critical to Saudi oil exports as the Strait of Hormuz remains largely shut. The kingdom’s East-West pipeline — capable of moving millions of barrels per day from the eastern oil fields to Yanbu — is itself currently offline following drone attacks last week, further increasing pressure on the Red Sea export route.
