**Algeria has severed diplomatic relations with the UAE, saying the move came “after exhausting all means” to preserve bilateral ties. Algiers did not publicly name a specific trigger.**

Relations had deteriorated for years, with Algerian officials and media accusing Abu Dhabi of interference and attempts to destabilize the country. In February, Algeria began terminating its bilateral air-services agreement with the UAE.

The UAE has not yet publicly responded to the rupture.
