**‘Canada wants to make a deal, and Iran wants to make a deal’ — Trump**

US President Donald Trump said both Canada and Iran are seeking agreements with the United States.

> “At the right time, both of those things could happen,” Trump insisted.

On Canada, Trump said a deal could come “fairly soon” if Ottawa addresses US complaints over tariffs on American farmers.

The remarks come after US-Canada trade talks collapsed in August, followed by 50% US tariffs on roughly $20 billion in Canadian exports and retaliatory Canadian duties. The dispute has also fueled a Canadian boycott of US products.

On Iran, Trump claimed the US is “winning very substantially” and repeated that Tehran “cannot have a nuclear weapon.” But the US-Israeli war with Iran is **now in its seventh month**, with Reuters reporting strained US logistics, depleted munitions, rising fuel prices and **only 31% public approval for the war**.
