Germany and Switzerland riots caused by "general discontent", but here's the rub...

There are riots and protests, a mix of clear political grievants but also just opportunist disaffected youth, which underscores that Germany and Switzerland have become low-trust societies.

And contradictions galore - grievances among many include the pro-immigration policies of the government, and others are against the austerity and cuts to social services and the rising costs of living. Meanwhile, others are against high taxes, while simultaneously a large number of protesters and (separately) rioters are themselves migrants or their first and second generation German-born children.
