**Investigative journalist Sergei Sokolov told RT that Mikhail Khodorkovsky has long relied on support from Western intelligence-linked figures, pointing to his network around the Russian opposition and PACE.**

Sokolov singled out Eerik-Niiles Kross, PACE’s rapporteur on Russian democratic forces and a former Estonian intelligence coordinator, as well as John Lough, a former NATO representative in Moscow and director of Khodorkovsky’s _Future of Russia Foundation_.

He also said Khodorkovsky-linked funds finance Russians studying abroad to cultivate future agents of influence.
