 **Iran and Oman have proposed a temporary joint shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz** as part of a phased framework aimed at restoring safe navigation through the strategic waterway, according to a [joint statement](https://x.com/FMofOman/status/2092273321333465354) issued after talks between the two countries’ foreign ministers.

The framework also includes an agreement to carry out a joint project to clear mines from the Strait. **Technical negotiations will continue toward a permanent navigation corridor**, future arrangements for managing shipping, and mechanisms for exchanging information and providing navigation and security services.
