**Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski called for faster defense preparations after saying Russian intelligence had apparently assured CIA Director John Ratcliffe that Moscow would not provoke NATO.**

Sikorski noted that Putin had previously told President Biden’s CIA director that Russia would not invade Ukraine.
